St. Patrick's Day pattern: Charming Green Necklace

Happy St. Patrick's day! I have an easy project to share with you. Whether you need decorations for your home or to decorate yourself, this easy Crochet Charms necklace is Is what you might need!

All you do is take your favorite four leaf clover pattern and connect them together with a chain stitch. If you don't have a favorite pattern, I have a simple one for you.

Terms:
sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet
tc = treble crochet
sl st = slip stitch

1) Make a circle, either by making a magic circle or doing a chain two or three and slip stitch to complete the circle. Then chain 1 and sc 8 stitches. Sl st to first stitch.

*I decided to use three treble crochet stitches because it makes the leaves stand taller. If you are unsure how to do this you can do two or three double crochet, however big you want your leaf to be.*

2) Chain 2. Three (3) double or treble crochet into the next stitch. Chain 2 and sl st into the next stitch. This is one leaf. Do this sequence 3 more times (chain 2, 3 dc or tc in next stitch, chain 2 and sl st in next stitch).

Once you have 4 leaves, then you make the stem.

3) Chain 5. Flip the project to the back sl st on the back of each chain. This will make a short stick. (4 stitches total)
You can add more chains here to make it longer.

4) You'll want to slip stitch towards the center of the clover to secure the stem and start chaining to the next clover.

5) This is how the back of the finished clover looks like. Now you can chain 20 or more stitches, make a circle with 8 single crochet stitches and start another clover.

You can either keep on going and make a long clover garland, or keep it shorter and make a necklace or skinny scarf. My three strand necklace has 18 clovers. You can make it as long as you need!

I hope my instructions and pictures were clear. if there are any questions leave me a comment. Now I will have no excuse to forget to wear green. Enjoy your new project!

What Are You Doing? March Blog Hop 2016

Welcome to the What Are You Doing? March blog hop!

Since the December Monthly Blog Hop went so well last year and I will be busy this year with wedding planning, I have decided to do monthly blog hops this year.

This blog hop runs from March 1 through March 31. That's right, you will have all month long to add to this list!

Your hosts:

Sara from Content in the Meantime

Kassandra from Coffee and Their Kisses

Featured post of the week:

Posted below is the featured blog post of the week. I love to find unique blogs and post to share about and write little comments on their writings. I try my best to give every blog a chance to be chosen, so make sure to enter your blog every week!

I didn't get a chance to feature a blog from my December blog hop. These look like such tasty treats, shared by Marie from Underground Crafter. She offers two different options to make chocolate molds or bark. I never thought to use jelly beans as filling.
Thank you for sharing, Marie!

 Congratulations to the featured blogs!

Don't forget to check out the other blogs from last week!

What have I been doing?

I made a new Instagram account for my Etsy page Hand Craft Love. You can find all my crochet handmade items and inspirations @hand_craft_love.

On the wedding side, we have been collecting information from local vendors. We went to the Marry Me Tampa Bay Educational Wedding Planning Workshop on their Wedding Week events. There's so many options to choose from, and this workshop gave us a better idea on what to look for and what questions to ask vendors.

Now it's your turn! What have you been doing this week?

  • Please post the link to a specific blog entry, not just the blog. I look at every link posted, and I comment in every entry. If you don't post a specific entry I can't comment!
  • Adding your email address will add you to my blog hop email list. I will only send you an email once a week informing you of the blog hop. If you don't want to be emailed, just let me know.
  • If your blog is featured on this blog hop, I will be using the picture you posted on the linky.
  • All blog posts will also be pinned on my What Are You Doing? Pinterest board, so others can see the awesome things you are doing!
  • Family friendly posts, please!
  • I also added a LIKE feature to the list, so make sure you check out the other blogs and like your favorite! Help me choose the featured blogs for the week! You only get one choice for a favorite though, but if you have other favorites, let me know in the comments!
