Hello and welcome to this month's What Are You Doing? Social Hop!

This is the last month of the most challenging year. We have learned many things. We had to let go of some things and had to make changes in our lives. We had to take care of ourselves and learn to care about others. I hope to take the things that are good and take them into the new year.

What have I been doing?
Along with the Cancer Challenge beanies, I made some pumpkins with the leftover yarns. I am planning to write a couple of blog posts on the different pumpkin patterns I have tried so far.

What have I been doing?
I'm happy to have finished two projects last month. One was this watermelon style bag, and another was a couple of watermelon cozies. This month I am working on something with plarn. I talked about plarn in the past on my blog. I am planning to make more plarn things this month. Also it's fall crafting and pumpkin time!

What Are You Doing? July 2020 Social Hop

Hello everyone, July is here. This is month 7 of the longest year (I didn't mean to rhyme!)
The virus is keeping some of us home and others on the front lines. There are still tensions online and in the news. A reminder to be conscious of others and support one another in the things we post. đź’ž

What have I been doing?

This month, I have had an amazing opportunity to volunteer with my job at one of the testing sites in my area. I get to see first-hand what the swabbing process is like, and I get to experience it is the hot weather that is Florida. I'm so honored to be a part of the cause.

In crocheting, I had a plan to make a bag with this yarn I purchased from Target. I finally was able to complete it in one sitting. Here's to making more bags for the summer.

What Are You Doing? June 2020 Social Hop

Oh hey, June. Half of the year has passed. So many things have happened, and there's a lot to process. Let us take this time on our posts to be conscious of others and show support.

This month will be open to all posts, but especially posts regarding #blacklivesmatter, including educational and informative posts. I know many small businesses are silencing their posting this week. I want my hop to be one of knowledge and understanding. I know my experience of racism does not compare to what other BIPOC have faced in the lifetime.

Let us remember the importance of what this time in our lives will bring. Will the things we do and the way we respond bring equity to the lives of our future generations?

What have I been doing?

To be honest, I haven't been able to crochet as much over the past few weeks. We are still working from home, but are still busy working. This past week I have been thinking and reading and learning.

I am in the progress of making a large dog bed for our dog Baxter. You might have seen some of his photos on my Instagram. PS, he now has an Instagram because of quarantine and my husband having so many photos of him on his phone! Follow him at https://www.instagram.com/baxteroftampa/!

What Are You Doing? April 2020 Social Hop

Wow, it's April. How weird last month has turned into. I am working from home now. I am surprised by how much I am enjoying my time at home. I don't have to drive anywhere. I can dress more comfortably. I thought I was more of an extrovert. But I am seeing real extrovert's reactions and how uncomfortable they are being separated from other people has made me realize that I am a homebody.

On that note, I have been trying to improve the look of the blog. I finally created a new title header for this monthly hop. I am now calling this a social media hop since we are including posts from all avenues of social media.

Since things have been changing everywhere, let's start with the social hop first!

What else have I been doing?

I did find a pattern that I am focusing on at the moment. I am working on the Everygirl Sweater from Hooked on Homemade Happiness. I'm so happy that I am working on something for myself! The Caron cakes color Turkish delight was very close to the color she used. Hers is plum crisp.

Other than that, I'm trying to get used to this new way of working from home. I have done some new baking and cooking things, and I have created more DIY projects. I also have been taking care of my plants. I post more of my projects on my personal Instagram http://instagram.com/silvercchile.
